Long trip to Ennis

Well, we are back from our very long trip to Ennis. It was quite the experience - 6 hours in the car. Ainzley slept almost all the way only waking up for a snack now and then. Then it was back to sleep. She slept with Gezibelle most of the way. What a good baby she is to put up with the long car ride.

We had fun hanging out at the lake. Mostly we just hung out - some people fished, played washers/horseshoes, and other outdoorsy type things. We mainly tried to stay cool and out of the sun. Swinging on the deck was our favorite outdoor activity!

MY DADDY LIKES PIE...

Well Melvin is not normally a big dessert eater. But he does like pie. One of his favorites happens to be pecan pie. He has been on the search for the perfect pecan pie for a while now. I will mention at this point that 'perfect' means (and I quote) "just like my grandma used to make." The best contender so far has been Bill Millers.

It just so happens that there was a pecan pie this weekend. Melvin finally got around to eating a slice and instantly fell in love with it. "This is the best pecan pie I have ever had since grandma." On and on he went about the damn pie. "And the crust is so flakey..." (here comes my favorite part and again I quote, "And I know good crust."

So I decide to ask Judy if she made the pecan pie, which she did. Then I ask her the million dollar question...did you make the crust. She said "no, you can buy it in the frozen section - its pilsbury" So I guess he does know good crust, its made by pilsbury. hahaha men are so stupid :)

So the ride home was even a longer one than the one up there. We stopped about half way to grab a bite to eat. I took Ainzley in to do a diaper change and let her stretch a bit. We stopped off at the DQ. I do not want to step on the Bathroom Goddess' toes so I will not mention the condition of the bathroom (unique smell, overflowing trash can, etc.) But when I put Ainzley on the changing table, she she stretched out and just layed there. I think it is safe to say she was sick and tired of being in her car seat. :) Glad to be home!!
